Born 20 years ago in Lancaster, PA, Charter Homes & Neighborhoods is the vision of Rob Bowman and his belief that our region’s strong sense of community and respect for the land could translate into a new, better kind of neighborhood.

Since that time, Charter Homes has earned its reputation as a leader in thoughtful development and design.  Our neighborhoods in Lancaster, York and greater Harrisburg are built to respect and enhance the history and character of areas around them – and we save the best green spaces and vistas for the whole community to enjoy.

Our hard work has not gone unrecognized. We are a recipient of some of the most prestigious awards in the industry, and have been recognized as the National Builder of the Year for the past three years. In recent years, we’ve also received Commonwealth Gold Award from 10,000 Friends of Pennsylvania, the 2009 Governor’s Award, and the  Envision Lancaster County Award for our outstanding Placemaking.
