THE PROPERTY: A Brief History

Brothers Vincent and Jacques Gammache lived on the land that Grandview calls home all of their lives. They were born there in the 1930’s, and both attended and graduated from Lancaster Catholic High School. When their mother Magdelena died in 1973, ownership of this land was passed to the two brothers.

In late 1997, the Gammache brothers deeded the property to Lancaster Catholic High School but both reserved the right to live on and enjoy the property until their death.

Both Jacques and Vincent passed away by early 2001. Later that same year, Charter Homes & Neighborhoods entered into an agreement for this tract of land with Lancaster Catholic High School and the Diocese of Harrisburg. Lancaster Catholic High School selected Charter Homes & Neighborhoods because it showed genuine care and understanding for the adjacent neighbors in Grandview Heights.
